Story of rugs

Few of us can hope to make "The Golden Journey to Samarkand" and return with bales of wondrous Eastern rugs with which to adorn our homes.

But though we cannot travel to the East in reality even a slight knowledge of the story of rugs, their beginnings and their name places can result in a quickening of the imagination and an appreciation of their beauties without which we may glance at them casually but see little.
